Elki the Wanderer – The Bonsai Pilgrim

Male Beastfolk (Druid, Sorcerer, Wizard)

Grasping a massive totem staff topped with an ornate lantern-tome while gesturing forward with an outstretched clawed hand, Elki the Wanderer brings ancient arcana and quiet stoicism to the battle grid. Outfitted in heavy traveler’s robes, woven prayer ropes, alchemy vials, and a living bonsai grove cultivated atop his natural shell, his broad posture exudes the weight of endless journeys. Keepers can deploy this Artifact as a secretive beastfolk spellcaster player character, a mystical planar pilgrim, or an eccentric questgiver seeking forgotten necromantic secrets.

Tabletop Lore

Adopted by the noble Bai family to be their heir, Elki proved to be a potent wielder of magic even as a child. Never one to seek a life in royal courts and grand banquets, he was overjoyed when his younger brother was born, relinquishing his claim to the estate. However, this joy was short-lived—his brother died in a tragic freak accident, and Elki was unfairly blamed and banished for his death. Now, he travels across the seas from Minera to Tharador, seeking the forbidden secrets of undeath to one day resurrect his lost brother.

Highlight

The distinctive living bonsai canopy resting atop his shell, combined with intricate woven prayer sashes, potion pouches, and an ornate lantern-staff, gives this spellcaster an unforgettable silhouette.
