The de facto leader of the Dark Dwarves led from bondage by Indua’ne, Korthart rules his liberated kin through terror rather than loyalty. During their long years of captivity, he frequently allied himself with their slavedrivers, claiming to his people that his submission was merely feigned allegiance to earn their captors’ trust. In truth, Korthart took sadistic pleasure in beating and disciplining his own kin to win favor with the Irinaxi Drow. When the time for rebellion came, he thrust a blade through the skull of his primary slavedriver, seizing command of the newly freed refugees with blood-soaked hands.
