Vahlen, Ascended Despair – The Flesh Wrought Scholar
Monster Type: Humanoid Aberration
Witness the tragic apex of forbidden hubris with a scholar turned grotesque monument to his own undoing. This hand-selected Artifact captures a brilliant academic completely overtaken by a mutated cosmic plague, his lower torso unraveling into a mass of thick, writhing tentacles while his upper form struggles to maintain its fractured authority. Clutching a crescent catalyst staff while his left hand reaches desperately toward the sky, he stands as a chilling fusion of academic refinement and eldritch horror.
Highlight
For the Keeper seeking a terrifying, high-status center-piece that shifts your campaign layout into a desperate survival-horror theater, this hand-selected Artifact introduces immediate visual and thematic dominance. The dramatic contrast between his tailored, fur-lined scholarly tunics and the smooth, muscular chaos of his massive tentacled base offers an elite canvas for blending, flesh tones, and atmospheric washes.

Tabletop Lore
Frederik, having felt there was no other way, ingested the Dragonblight strain he had altered, hoping to ascend to some sort of divine form similar to Hendrak himself. The risk he took was calculated, but it has not paid off. Instead he is bound in a grotesque form that is constant agony for him, stuck as a passenger in his own mutated body as something else steers it. Now he watches helplessly as he realises the folly of his own ways, and the undoing of his life’s work.
